Description
Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these air fryer baked potatoes are a quick and easy side dish. Using an air fryer allows for perfectly cooked potatoes with minimal oil and less cooking time than a traditional oven.
Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 4 medium russet potatoes
- Olive oil or cooking spray (enough to lightly coat potatoes)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the potatoes: Poke each potato multiple times with a fork to allow steam to escape during cooking, preventing them from bursting inside the air fryer.
- Season the potatoes: Lightly coat each potato with olive oil or cooking spray, then sprinkle with salt evenly to enhance the flavor and help crisp the skin.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to reach the desired temperature before cooking.
- Arrange and cook: Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch each other to allow air circulation. Cook for 30 to 40 minutes, checking doneness at 30 minutes by piercing with a fork. Continue cooking in 5-minute intervals if necessary until they are soft inside.
- Serve: Carefully remove the hot potatoes from the air fryer. Slice them open and fluff the inside with a fork before serving as desired.
Notes
- You can increase cooking time slightly for larger potatoes or decrease it for smaller ones.
- To add extra flavor, try rubbing the potatoes with garlic powder or your favorite herbs along with the salt.
- Be cautious removing potatoes as they will be very hot after air frying.
- Leftover baked potatoes can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the air fryer for a crispy skin.
