Ingredients
Scale
Protein
- 1 pound sirloin steak
- 12 large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
Pasta
- 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
Seasonings and Oils
- 2 tablespoons blackening seasoning, divided
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
- Season Proteins: Pat the sirloin steak and shrimp dry with paper towels. Evenly season both with the blackening seasoning on all sides to ensure a flavorful crust.
- Sear Steak: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the seasoned steak in the hot skillet and sear for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest to retain juices before slicing.
- Cook Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and cook the shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes per side. Cook until shrimp turn opaque and are just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Prepare Alfredo Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream, then season with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Simmer the mixture for 3 to 4 minutes until it slightly thickens.
- Add Cheese and Combine: Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Toss the cooked fettuccine pasta gently in the sauce until all noodles are nicely coated.
- Assemble and Serve: Slice the rested steak into strips. Plate the Alfredo pasta and top with sliced steak and cooked shrimp. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately for best taste and texture.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the creamiest and smoothest Alfredo sauce.
- For a lighter sauce, substitute heavy cream with half and half.
- Chicken can be used instead of steak for a different protein option.
- Ensure steak rests after cooking to maintain juiciness and tenderness when sliced.
