Ingredients
Scale
Kielbasa
- 2 pounds smoked kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/2 inch rounds
Glaze
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Arrange Kielbasa: Place the sliced kielbasa in a single layer in the prepared baking dish to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare Glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and butter. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth and slightly thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Coat Kielbasa: Pour the warm glaze evenly over the kielbasa slices and gently toss with a spoon to coat all pieces thoroughly.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes. Stir once halfway through baking to evenly caramelize the sausage.
- Cool & Serve: Remove from oven and let the candied kielbasa bites cool slightly so the glaze thickens before serving. Serve with toothpicks for easy party enjoyment.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or a splash of hot sauce to the glaze mixture.
- This recipe can be made in a slow cooker by cooking on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Serve with toothpicks for convenient party appetizers.
