Description

These Cheeseburger Stuffed Flatbreads are a quick and delicious twist on a classic cheeseburger, combining savory seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar cheese wrapped in warm, toasted flatbreads. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner, these handheld flatbreads are filled with flavorful cheeseburger ingredients and can be customized with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

For the Flatbreads

  • 4 large flatbreads or naan
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil, for toasting

Optional Toppings

  • Pickles
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Extra ketchup or mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onions until browned and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain any excess grease to keep the filling from becoming greasy.
  2. Flavor the filling: Stir in ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for 1 to 2 minutes to blend the flavors. Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts into the beef mixture.
  3. Assemble flatbreads: Lay each flatbread or naan on a flat surface. Spoon an even portion of the beef and cheese mixture down the center of each flatbread. Add any optional toppings you like such as pickles, lettuce, diced tomatoes, or extra ketchup and mustard.
  4. Fold and toast: Fold each flatbread over the filling like a taco or burrito. Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Toast the folded flatbreads for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  5. Serve: Slice the toasted stuffed flatbreads in half and serve warm with extra dipping sauces or your favorite sides.

Notes

  • You can use naan or any large flatbread of choice for this recipe.
  • Drain the beef well after cooking to prevent soggy flatbreads.
  • For a different cheese flavor, try using mozzarella or American cheese.
  • Add fresh vegetables or pickles for added crunch and freshness.
  • Toast on medium heat to ensure cheese melts and flatbread crisps without burning.
