Slider Ingredients
- 1 (12-count) package King’s Hawaiian Rolls
- ½ cup spicy jalapeno cream cheese spread (room temperature)
- ¼ cup cooked chopped bacon
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 12 pieces frozen popcorn chicken pieces
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, separating the top and bottom halves carefully.
- Assemble Bottom Layer: Spread the spicy jalapeno cream cheese evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls, then sprinkle the cooked chopped bacon on top, followed by the shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
- Create Chicken Pockets: Using a 1-inch round cutter, cut a hole in the top halves of each roll. Discard the bread centers. Place the roll tops over the cheese-covered bottom halves, aligning them properly. Insert one piece of frozen popcorn chicken into each cut-out hole on top of the rolls.
- Bake Sliders: Carefully transfer the assembled sliders to the prepared baking pan. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cheese melts and the chicken is heated through.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and cut the sliders into 12 individual servings. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Use frozen popcorn chicken directly without thawing to maintain the best texture.
- If you prefer extra heat, add sliced jalapenos or hot sauce inside the sliders before baking.
- Substitute Monterey Jack cheese with Pepper Jack for a spicier cheese option.
- Ensure the cream cheese spread is at room temperature for easy spreading.
- These sliders are best served fresh but can be refrigerated and reheated covered in foil for 10 minutes at 350°F.
