Description

Delight in these irresistible Chocolate Covered Strawberries, a simple yet elegant dessert perfect for any occasion. Fresh, juicy strawberries are dipped in rich semi-sweet chocolate and optionally drizzled with smooth white chocolate, creating a romantic and visually stunning treat that requires no baking and comes together quickly.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries with stems, rinsed and thoroughly dried

Chocolate Coating

  • 8 ounces semi-sweet or dark chocolate (chopped or in chips)
  • 2 ounces white chocolate (optional, for drizzling)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable oil (optional, for smoother melting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to prevent chocolate-covered strawberries from sticking once dipped.
  2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate with the coconut or vegetable oil over a double boiler or in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring carefully between each until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  3. Dip the strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is evenly coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off back into the bowl.
  4. Arrange the dipped strawberries: Place each dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart so they do not touch as the chocolate sets.
  5. Optional white chocolate drizzle: Melt the white chocolate separately using the same method and drizzle it over the dipped strawberries using a spoon or piping bag for an elegant finish.
  6. Set the chocolate: Allow the strawberries to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes or refrigerate them for 15–20 minutes until the chocolate hardens and is set.
  7. Serve: Enjoy the chocolate covered strawberries chilled or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate adhere properly.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and smooth coating.
  • These strawberries are best enjoyed within 24 hours to maintain freshness and texture.
  • The addition of coconut or vegetable oil helps the chocolate melt more smoothly and gives a nice shine when set.
