Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes
- 1 ½ pounds (680 g) yellow potatoes, well-scrubbed and rinsed
Coating
- ¼ cup (57 g) butter, melted
- ½ cup (50 g) grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven & Pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Set aside a 9×13 inch baking pan to use later.
- Wash & Cut Potatoes: Thoroughly scrub and rinse the yellow potatoes to ensure they are clean. Cut each potato into quarters, ensuring even pieces for uniform cooking.
- Prepare the Baking Pan: Pour the melted butter evenly into the bottom of the baking pan, coating the surface. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese over the butter, then evenly sprinkle the garlic powder.
- Arrange the Potatoes: Place the quartered potatoes onto the butter-cheese mixture in a single, even layer. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over the potatoes.
- Bake: Place the pan on the middle oven rack and bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, move the pan to the top rack and continue baking for another 10 minutes or until the potatoes are golden and crispy around the edges.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the potatoes to sit for 10 minutes, letting the coating set. Gently remove the potatoes from the pan and serve warm as a crispy, flavorful side dish.
Notes
- Use yellow potatoes for the best texture and flavor.
- Cut potatoes into even quarters to ensure uniform cooking.
- For extra crispiness, make sure the potatoes are arranged in a single layer without overlapping.
- You can add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for added aroma and flavor.
- Letting the potatoes rest after baking helps the parmesan coating adhere better.
