Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Mixture
- 700 grams milk chocolate
- 250 grams Nutella
- 150 grams unsalted butter
Dry Ingredients
- 150 grams digestive biscuits
- 100 grams hazelnut wafers (optional)
- 100 grams chopped roasted hazelnuts (optional)
Topping
- 300 grams Ferrero Rocher (1 box)
Instructions
- Prepare tin: Line a 9×9 inch (23×23 cm) baking tin with parchment paper or foil to ensure easy removal of the tiffin once set.
- Prepare chocolate and hazelnuts: Chop the Ferrero Rocher chocolates in half, reserving 16 halves for decoration. Break or chop digestive biscuits and hazelnut wafers into bite-sized pieces and combine with the chopped roasted hazelnuts in a large mixing bowl.
- Melt chocolate and butter: In a saucepan over low to medium heat, gently melt the butter and Nutella together until smooth. Remove from heat and add 400 grams of the chopped milk chocolate, letting it sit for a couple of minutes before stirring until fully melted and smooth.
- Combine ingredients: Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the bowl containing the dry ingredients. Stir thoroughly until all biscuit pieces and nuts are evenly coated and no dry pockets remain. Press the resulting mixture firmly into the prepared baking tin. Place the tin in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set slightly.
- Decorate: Melt the remaining 300 grams of chocolate until smooth. Pour this melted chocolate evenly over the chilled tiffin base and smooth out with a spatula. Arrange the reserved Ferrero Rocher halves in a 4×4 grid pattern on top. Scatter any remaining chopped hazelnuts over the surface for added texture and presentation.
- Set: Return the tiffin to the fridge and allow it to chill for approximately 2 hours or until completely firm. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- You can substitute digestive biscuits and hazelnut wafers with your choice of cookies or wafers if preferred.
- For a richer flavor, toast the hazelnuts lightly before chopping.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Allow the tiffin to come to room temperature for a few minutes before serving for the best texture.
- Optional: Add a pinch of sea salt on top before setting for a sweet-salty contrast.
