Ingredients
Scale
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour or almond flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional Add-ins
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, melted coconut oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Add the whole wheat or almond flour, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined to avoid overmixing. If you want, fold in the chocolate chips or nuts now.
- Pour Batter: Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula to ensure uniform thickness.
- Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer them onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice into 12 servings and enjoy.
Notes
- For a nut-free option, omit nuts and use chocolate chips only.
- Using almond flour makes the brownies gluten-free, suitable for those with gluten sensitivities.
- Honey or maple syrup can be substituted interchangeably based on preference.
- Ensure not to overbake to keep the brownies moist and fudgy.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
