Description

A quick and flavorful Herbed Garlic Bread recipe featuring a buttery herb spread broiled to golden perfection. Perfect as a side dish to complement any meal or as a tasty snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Herb Butter Spread

  • 1/4 cup Country Crock® Spread (or your favorite butter substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon mixed dried herbs (or 1 tablespoon fresh, finely chopped herbs)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Bread

  • 1 (12-ounce) loaf of French or Italian bread

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven: Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler to get it ready for baking the bread.
  2. Make the Herb Butter: In a small bowl, thoroughly combine the Country Crock® Spread, mixed dried herbs, and garlic powder to create a flavorful herb butter spread.
  3. Prepare the Bread: Slice the French or Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise and place both halves flat side up on a baking sheet. Evenly spread the herb butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Broil the Bread: Place the baking sheet under the preheated broiler and broil the bread for about 2 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  5. Serve: Remove the bread from the oven, slice it into serving portions, and serve warm alongside your favorite meals.

Notes

  • Keep a close eye while broiling to avoid burning the bread since broiler intensity varies.
  • Substitute fresh herbs for dried herbs at a ratio of one tablespoon fresh to one teaspoon dried for a brighter flavor.
  • Use any favorite butter substitute or real butter according to dietary preference.
  • This bread is best enjoyed warm but can be reheated quickly in the oven if needed.
