Ingredients
Scale
Salmon and Sauce
- 4 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Lemon slices, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with a large piece of aluminum foil, ensuring it’s big enough to fold over the salmon fillets completely.
- Prepare Salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the center of the foil on the baking sheet.
- Make Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Apply Sauce: Spoon the honey mustard sauce evenly over each salmon fillet, ensuring they are well coated with the flavorful mixture.
- Seal Foil Packet: Fold the foil up and over the salmon, sealing the edges tightly to create a foil packet that will trap steam and moisture during baking.
- Bake Salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Optional Broil: Carefully open the foil to expose the top of the salmon and, if desired, switch the oven to broil for 2 to 3 minutes to lightly caramelize the honey mustard topping.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the salmon and serve with fresh lemon slices on the side for added brightness.
Notes
- This recipe can also be cooked on a grill by placing the foil packet over medium heat for about 12 to 15 minutes.
- For extra flavor and nutrition, add thinly sliced onions or asparagus inside the foil packet before sealing.
