Instructions
- Cook Peanut Butter and Honey: In a small saucepan, combine the peanut butter and honey. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until the mixture is melted and thoroughly blended, ensuring a smooth consistency.
- Combine with Oats: Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately stir in the old-fashioned oats until they are fully coated with the peanut butter and honey mixture.
- Spread and Chill: Transfer the mixture into a greased 9-inch square pan, pressing down lightly to create an even layer. Allow it to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to set before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Use creamy peanut butter for better binding and texture.
- For a nuttier flavor, you may toast the oats lightly before mixing.
- Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
- These bars can be customized by adding chocolate chips, dried fruit, or seeds if desired.
- To easily remove from the pan, line it with parchment paper before pressing the mixture in.
