Description

Reuben Crescents are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer inspired by the classic Reuben sandwich. Flaky crescent roll dough is filled with layers of thinly sliced corned beef, Swiss cheese, tangy sauerkraut, and creamy Thousand Island dressing, then topped with poppy seeds and baked until golden brown. Perfect for parties or a savory snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • ½ lb corned beef, thinly sliced from the deli counter
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • ¼ cup Thousand Island dressing
  • ½ cup sauerkraut, rinsed and drained

Dough & Topping

  • 1 (8-oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 Tbsp poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) to prepare for baking the crescents.
  2. Prepare Crescent Dough: Separate the crescent rolls into 8 individual triangles on a clean surface for easy filling.
  3. Assemble the Crescents: On each crescent triangle, place one slice of Swiss cheese, then add one or two slices of corned beef on top of the cheese. Spoon about one tablespoon of sauerkraut over the beef, followed by 1 to 1 ½ teaspoons of Thousand Island dressing. Carefully roll up each crescent from the wide end to the tip and place them seam-side down on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle the tops with poppy seeds for added texture and flavor.
  4. Bake: Bake the prepared crescents in the preheated oven for 16 to 19 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Rinsing and draining sauerkraut reduces excess moisture and prevents sogginess in the crescents.
  • You can substitute Thousand Island dressing with Russian dressing for a slightly different flavor.
  • Ensure the crescent rolls are rolled tightly to prevent filling leakage during baking.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
  • These crescents make a great party appetizer or snack.
