Description

These Sausage, Egg & Cheese Crescent Rolls make a delicious and convenient breakfast or brunch option. Featuring flaky crescent roll dough stuffed with savory cooked sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese, they bake up golden and perfect for a hearty start to your day.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls

Egg Mixture

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sausage and Cheese

  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (or any ground sausage)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

Optional Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Once done, drain any excess fat and set aside.
  3. Scramble the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are fully scrambled and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Assemble the Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent rolls and separate them into individual triangles on a flat surface. Place a spoonful of cooked sausage in the center of each triangle, followed by a small portion of scrambled eggs and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
  5. Roll and Bake: Roll up each crescent triangle starting from the wide end towards the point, enclosing the filling inside. Place the rolled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet with the pointed end tucked underneath.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese inside has melted.
  7. Serve: Remove the crescent rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with any cheese of your choice such as mozzarella, pepper jack, or Swiss.
  • Use turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for a leaner or vegetarian alternative (omit egg for vegan).
  • Try adding chopped bell peppers or onions to the sausage for extra flavor and texture.
  • Serve these crescent rolls fresh for best texture, but they can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven.
  • For a spicier twist, sprinkle some red pepper flakes or hot sauce before rolling up.
