Ingredients
Scale
Cheese Mixture
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 oz sour cream
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1/3 cup salsa (taco or picante sauce)
Fillings
- 1–2 jalapeños, seeded and finely diced (adjust to taste)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
- 1/3 cup cilantro, finely chopped
Wrap
- 6 (8-inch) flour tortillas
Instructions
- Prepare the cheese mixture: In a medium bowl, thoroughly combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, and salsa until smooth and well blended. This mixture will serve as the flavorful base layer inside the tortillas.
- Add the fillings: Stir in the finely diced jalapeños, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked shredded chicken, and chopped cilantro into the cheese mixture, evenly distributing all ingredients for a balanced flavor in every bite.
- Assemble the roll-ups: Lay each flour tortilla flat on a clean surface and evenly spread the cheese and chicken mixture over the entire surface of each tortilla, reaching all the edges to ensure full coverage.
- Roll tightly and chill: Carefully roll each tortilla into a tight cylinder, making sure the filling stays inside. Wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the rolls to firm up for easier slicing.
- Slice and serve: Remove the roll-ups from the refrigerator, unwrap, and cut each roll into 1- to 1.5-inch slices. Arrange on a platter and serve as a delicious appetizer or snack.
Notes
- For a milder flavor, adjust the amount of jalapeños or omit the seeds to reduce heat.
- Use corn tortillas for a gluten-free option, but be aware they might be less pliable.
- To save time, use rotisserie chicken or leftover cooked chicken for the filling.
- These roll-ups can be made a day in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator.
- Serve with additional salsa or guacamole for dipping if desired.
